Farm in the City Summer Youth Program –
Harvesting the Imagination
Farm in the City Summer Camp is a garden-based summer youth
program for children, ages 7-12. This arts-intensive program is an in-depth, experiential,
cross-continental tour of cooking, culture, and art! Each week, a guest artist and
chef from different parts of the planet (think Africa, Asia, South America, India)
will lead campers as we create art and cook food according to the traditions of
that culture -- and lead the campers in a community art project. In addition, campers
spend a lot of time in the garden, planting, weeding, caring and harvesting. Campers
create art in studios (ceramics, photography, sewing, weaving, painting).
