4Keeps, an Anoka county parent-run adoption support group offers activities for
families Minnesota. It is a non-profit organization that provides support, education,
encouragement, and friendship for families with adopted children, those in the process
of adopting, and those considering adoption.
Ongoing activities include:
- Weekly Kids Club activities at Lion's Park
- Monthly Dad's night out (a time to connect and swap stories)
- Monthly Mom's night out (a time to connect and swap stories)

Harambee Project
The Harambee Project is a village of African American children and their adoptive,
foster or kinship family. Harambee sponsors an annual conference; monthly meetings
featuring speakers; small support groups for same-race and transracial families;
programming for children; and beginning this fall, a newsletter. The newsletter
will be published quarterly and will feature information about resources and events;
parenting; Harambee-sponsored activities; and opportunities for children to be connected
to their community.

Children’s Home Society & Family
Services offers a wide variety of support groups for families at various stages
of the adoption journey. They include a support group for waiting families,
parents of adult adopted persons, a west metro adoptive parent group, birthparents
and various groups for children.
All support groups are facilitated by licensed social workers
and CHSFS staff. All groups are free for CHSFS clients and $10 for non-CHSFS
clients per session.
