Center for Grief, Loss and Transition
The Center for Grief provides specialized therapy and education in the areas
of complicated grief, trauma, and life transition.

Fathers' Adoption Registry
The Fathers' Adoption Registry is a record of putative fathers who voluntarily
register any time before their child's birth or within 30 days of the birth. It
applies to children born on January 1, 1998 or later, but not before then. If adoption
proceedings begin for the child, and if the father has placed his name on the registry,
the court can find the father so he can participate in the adoption proceedings.
Any birthfather who believes that he may be the father of a child, and who wishes
to receive notice of the child's adoption, must register with the Minnesota Fathers'
Adoption Registry.
If a man wishes to veto an adoption plan or otherwise assert parental rights to
a child, he must:

File a paternity action within 30 days after his child's birth or
-
If he is registered, after getting a father's adoption registry notice, he must
begin a paternity action within 30 days
-
If a man does not register within 30 days of the child's birth and still wishes
to register, he must prove that it was impossible for him to register and that the
impossibility was not his fault

To register with the Minnesota Fathers' Adoption Registry, a father must fill out
a written registration
form, sign it and return it to the Registry (in person or by mail). There
is no registration fee.

The Minnesota Prevention
Resource Center (MPRC)
A project of the Minnesota Institute of Public Health (MIPH) promotes the public
health and prevents the problems caused by substance abuse. This includes tobacco
and drug use, underage alcohol use and the misuse of alcohol by adults.
