Additional Information:

Specialties:   Play therapy with individuals and families to process trauma history and improve parent/child relationships, focusing on providing therapy for children 0-10 and individual therapy for adults with severe mental illness.

Services:   Office-Based with very limited In-Home sessions

Philosophy of Practice:   "My philosophy is that love can be learned, as well as parents bonding & children attaching securely to caregivers. This process takes time and also includes adoptive siblings and extended family members. Since play is a developmental necessity & the language of children, therapy sessions include therapeutic play modalities."

Adoption Related Experience/Recent Training:   Completed requirements as a certified play therapist with Play Therapy Internatio9nal 3/2002. Attend generally 3 trainings per year -- specifically on attachment. Hopefully, will be able to start U of M program on infant/early childhood mental health -- a 2 year certificate program.
